Costa Rica ha sido testigo de casos donde agrupaciones criminales, como la desarticulada banda de alias &#8220;Turesky&#8221;, lograron acumular patrimonios de miles de millones de colones mediante transacciones en efectivo que escaparon del radar bancario. Este proyecto de ley pretende cerrar ese portillo legal, obligando a que las transacciones de alto valor pasen obligatoriamente por el sistema financiero supervisado. En un movimiento innovador, la ley clasifica a las criptomonedas y criptoactivos como &#8220;efectivo&#8221; mientras no est\u00e9n regulados, obligando a que cualquier pago mediante estos activos tambi\u00e9n deba ser declarado y canalizado bajo supervisi\u00f3n. Los notarios p\u00fablicos tendr\u00e1n la obligaci\u00f3n de dar fe del origen de los fondos y de que el pago se realiz\u00f3 mediante una entidad supervisada por la SUGEF.
